6: Corporate Philanthropy Awards, Innovation Winner, 2023.

Qualification: Companies and organizations submitted data to the PBJ in a survey to be considered for the Corporate Philanthropy Awards. The Lists were ranked by reported cash contributions to local nonprofits. Twenty-two respondents submitted for the Innovation in Philanthropy Awards and three were selected, including Modernist Financial, by the publisher and editorial judges on the PFB staff. No fees were charged for the survey, listing or award designation.

7: Portland Inno Early Risers: Fastest Growing Businesses, 2022.

To qualify: These were companies chosen by editorial judges on PBJ staff from the Private 100 Fastest-Growing Companies of 2022, which were determined with a survey of companies self-reporting revenues over the last three fiscal years, and verified by a third-party CPA or documentation. No fees were charged for the Private 100 or Early Risers.

8: PBJ x Workplace Change, Game Changer Award, 2022.

To qualify: The specific criteria for obtaining the award: “We evaluated organizations we had worked with in some capacity who were doing innovative and impactful things in their organizational cultures and for the experience and benefit of employees. We looked for tangible commitments, actions, programs, and/or benefits that we were aware of that spoke to an employee and culture-centered approach. Whether the award was independently granted or whether the firm or its supervised persons applied for the award; If so, the number of other companies/persons who applied and the number of awards granted; This award was independently granted based on a review of about 40 organizations we had worked with at the time. The amount of any fees paid by the firm or its supervised persons to receive the award (either upfront to obtain the award or after the award was granted to obtain plaques, article reprints, or other similar indicia of the award); and there were no fees paid to receive the award. Whether the firm or its supervised persons were required to become members of an organization to receive the award. The firm was not required to become a member of an organization to receive the award.
